State Agrarian University of Moldova

State Agrarian University of Moldova (SAUM) is the oldest university in the country, founded in 1933 according to Order of the King Carol II of Romania and the only one Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Republic of Moldova (RM) which trains specialists for the area of agriculture –one of the most important branches of RM economy. SAUM is the first HEI of Moldova that has enforced the Bologna Process. Among university graduates there are: presidents, ministers, diplomats, writers, poets and many others outstanding representatives of our country and from abroad. During its existence, SAUM has trained more than 1,000 professionals in agricultural sector for 85 countries. The internationalization of education is the main objective of the University and reflected in the SAUM development strategy.

Nowadays SAUM is a HEI where having study 5000 of students under the guidance of qualified didactic staff on 6 faculties (Economy, Agronomy, Horticulture, Medicine Veterinary, Mechanical Engineering, Cadaster and Law). University offers wide range of study programmes for Undergraduates (24), for Masters (33) and for PhD students (24) in Romanian, English and Russian languages.

University has a rich infrastructure SAUM campus is situated in the capital of the Republic of Moldova) which includes 9 teaching buildings, 14 student residences, laboratories, experimental didactic stations, the Republican Agricultural Scientific Library, a computer center,  other administrative,  research and technical bodies etc.

SAUM is the member of different international organization: Council of Rectors of the leading agricultural universities in the CIS (since 1995); Agency of the Francofon Universities (AUF) (since 1997); International Association “Agrarian University Complex” (since 2013); Danube Rectors’ Conference (DRC) (since 2014); Central and South Eastern Europe  Network (CASEE) (since 2018), and others International Organizations. State Agrarian University of Moldova takes part in many international projects within TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, ERASMUS+, Fulbright, Impulse, Cross-border cooperation etc.  The University cooperates with more than 80 Higher Educational Institutions, research canters, enterprises from Republic of Moldova and foreign countries.

In order to successful realisation of the project activities related to this application will be coordinated together with the Centre for European Studies “EUroSTUDIES” of the SAUM (http://uasm.md/en/international-relations/eurostudies ) which was founded by the State Agrarian University of Moldova in August 2016 after the implementation of the project TEMPUS, “Fostering the Knowledge Triangle in Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova” (FKTBUM) TEMPUS-1 -2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-SMHES – FKTBUM- 543 853 to strengthen the link between academics, students, scientific and business environment, civil society, and the promotion of the European dimension, thus contributing to better understanding of the EU.

Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts

The Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts (AMTAP) is the only public HEI in the Republic of Moldova providing professional training in the field of arts (music, fine arts, design, theatre, cinema, choreography, cultural studies, arts management). In 2019 the Creative HUB at Fine Arts Faculty, supported by USAID, Embassy of Sweden has been open. Since 2018 AMTAP students take part at Start Up Semester aimed to development entrepreneurs’ skills  of young professionals in creative and cultural industries. The Academy held a wide range of international events incl. ClassFest, the international Festival of theatre schools,9 editions, with participation of the teachers and students from The Faculty of Theatre, Choreography Art and Multimedia as well as students  from EU and former Soviet countries HEIs; annual Martisor Student’s Music Festival. Since 2013 our students participate at international project  Donaufest, Ulm, Germany; In 2019 AMTAP held the co-project with “J. Tomadini” Conservatoire of Music, Udine, Italy.  The Fine Arts Faculty members take part at the Bunker Expozition Centre activities supported by Goethe Institut; Creative Summer Camp&Sympozion in collaboration with National University of Arts “G. Enescu”, Iasi, Romania.  AMTAP has partners within Erasmus+ (K107) Program in Italy, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Poland. AMTAP is also a member of consortiums within Erasmus + Capacity Building Projects dedicated to the internationalization (Elevate) and LLL (Compass). We also participate at COST Actions: CA17114 (Transdisciplinary solutions to cross sectoral disadvantage in youth (YOUNG-IN); CA17132 (European network for argumentation and public policy analysis (APPLY)); CA18136 European Forum for Advanced Practices (EFAP); CA15207  (ProSEPS); CA18236 (Multi-disciplinary innovation for social change).

Technical University of Moldova

Technical University of Moldova (TUM) is the only higher technical educational institution in Moldova, accredited by the state. Since its founding in 1964 until now, it has trained more than 80000 engineers and economists. TUM objectives: to develop the value of the national engineering education through the quality of education as a determinant of the competitiveness of human potential; development of scientific research as a crucial component in professional engineering. Technical University of Moldova comprises 9 faculties and one technical college, 50 departments, etc. The teaching staff includes about 645 academic staff, two-thirds of them holding scientific and didactic degrees of “academician”, “professor”, “associate professor”, “PhD”, “doctor in science “.  About 8150 students are enrolled at present.  TUM offers 60 study programs at cycle I, 41 at cycle II and 36 PhD programs. Since 2005 the educational process is structured in three cycles according to the Bologna Process. Studies at TUM are organized under the ECTS recognized in the EHEA. TUM is the member of the prestigious university associations: European University Association (EUA), Association of Francophone Universities (AUF), Danube Rectors ‘Conference (DRC), Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN). TUM cooperates with more than 50 European HEI. TUM participated in 22 Tempus and 6 Erasmus+ projects regarding the university management and quality assurance, updating the study curriculum, creation of institutional structures, endowed with the academic staff and student mobility.

Alecu Russo Balti State University

The institution was founded in 1945 as Pedagogical State Institute, acquiring the statute of Alecu Russo Balti State University in 1992. Presently, it is the center of the University Complex which embraces all levels of training specialists for the national economy (Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels), as well as continuing education of specialists who are already employed. (http://usarb.md). The employees of the 14 specialized departments provide educational services in Romanian, Russian and at certain specialties, in English, German and French. In 2015 there appeared new legislation regarding the organization of doctoral studies in Moldova. University has been granted the right to organize PhD studies through the Provisional Authorization of the Doctoral School in Philology, Government Decision no. 816 of 11.11.2015. In 2009 Alecu Russo Balti State University was awarded the international certificate ISO 9001-2000 of the  European University System of Quality Management. On  December 5, 2011 the University was certified by the certification bodies of the management systems IQNet (The International Certification Network) and RSQA (Romanian Society for Quality Assurance) in the fields of higher education and training university lecturers and academics. The certificate confirms that Alecu Russo Balti State University has implemented and maintains a quality management system according to the international standard ISO 9001:2008. In 2016 by the Decision of the National Council for Accreditation and Attestation no. AC-4/1 from  June 28, 2016, the University was accredited as an organization from the field of science and innovation with all rights to carry out research, innovation and technology transfer in six research areas. The title of the institution is Internationally Competitive Organization (category B). The University Scientific Library, ranked by the Government of the Republic of Moldova as belonging to the highest category, has a book stock in 52 languages). It contains several special collections, database, it is computerized and connected to the Internet (http://libruniv.usb.md). University makes efforts for sustaining R&D activities and promoting Technological Transfer. Academic staff have implemented the Project of the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Ro-Ua-Md “Joint Business Support Centre – Tool for Fostering development of entrepreneurship in Ro-Ua-Md cross-border area (Jo.BS Center)”.

Promoting innovation is a priority for USARB. Smart specialization will build the University’s capacities through dialogue between academic, non-governmental and business representatives, developing the smart specialisation as the essential component of the institutional strategic plan.

“Association for supporting innovations and sustainable development ”IMPULS”

Association for supporting innovations and sustainable development “IMPULS” (NGO IMPULS) was legally registered in 2014, as a non-profit organisation, founded by the group of professors and researchers SUCCESSizing in sustainable development on a multidimensional basis, including the European integration process of Moldova.

In accordance with the art. 3.1 of the NGO IMPULS Statutes, the Organization aims to support sustainable development in the priority fields of society and state and support the development of education, competitiveness, entrepreneurship, scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer in Moldova in accordance with international standards; is seeking for stimulating the potential of youth, civil society, promoting education, culture, tourism, environmental actions and so on.

NGO IMPULS is paying great attention to the following priority areas (art.2 NGO IMPULS Statute): education, socio-economic field, innovation and technology transfer, infrastructure development, information and communication technologies, etc.

In order to achieve its goals, the Organization will perform the following activities:

– The consultative, analysis, monitoring and evaluation  assistance of all sectors and social, economic and legal spheres, with direct impact on priority areas;

– Contributing to the development of civil society, business, academia and science, and other stakeholders that are related to priority areas of research, educational programs, information technologies, by offering training, advice and assistance, using modern tools and innovative methods;

– Carrying out activities to stimulate the potential of civil society, business, academia and science, and other stakeholders that are related to priority areas;

– Providing sustainable development on a multidimensional basis at local, regional and national level, the formation of a network for sustainable development of the society and local communities;

– Promoting regional cooperation (cross-border), international sustainable development and facilitate the economic, social and cultural European integration

– Supporting initiatives and actions that respond best to an exceptional situation, the complex problems of / in connection with the public agenda with the active involvement of economic agents, researchers, academic and scientific actors, etc. Encouraging active participation of stakeholders in order to contribute to community development in priority areas;

– Identification, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various projects, including those with innovative character, locally, nationally and internationally, in order to develop social and economic potential of the population and meet the objectives of the Organization.

NGO IMPULS today is an association of about 130 individual and collective members from all European Eastern Neighbourhood Countries and Russia that are incorporated in its Network. In Moldova, NGO IMPULS Network is uniting HEIs-research institutions-civil society organisations and entrepreneurial sector. Staff members of NGO IMPULS are regularly engaged in consulting, teaching, research, expertise services, education and training programmes. NGO IMPULS is very actively collaborate with all partners, especially with regional partners from Balti city (North region), Cahul (South region), Comrat (Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia) and Centre region ( Chisinau) (Centre).

In order to achieve its aims, NGO IMPULS is actively involved in the national wide-scale projects and is  focusing on the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches in education and research, various programs and short courses, conducts research and provides consultancy in the field of European studies, LLL, “Knowledge triangle”; participates in activities promoting information, debates and dialogue on the priority areas for our organization through conferences, seminars, SUCCESSized publications.

– Currently, NGO IMPULS is the Co-coordinator of the Project within Erasmus+ Programme, CBHE, KA2, 585620-EPP-1- 2017-1-ELEPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Fostering university-enterprise cooperation and entrepreneurship of students via SMART Caffes/SMART”
